The writing style of watchmen is a great asset to the graphic novel. It makes it seem more realistic, like the visual style. The writing style is what makes watchmen look and feel like an intelligent novel.
Like April in the article about what she had first thought of watchmen, she did not like it until she 'read it' and the writing pulled her in to the graphic novel and then everything else fell into place.

Watchmen visual style
The watchmen graphic novel would certainly be nothing without the visual style, that is what it is most known for. The visual style brings watchmen to life, without it, it would just be another graphic novel.
The blue smoke in watchmen added to the visual effect. In the graphic novel, they're just a subtle touch to show how the world of Watchmen is slightly different than ours. But apparently, they don't really have any relevance to the plot.

Watchmen, the film's comparison to the graphic novel
I liked the graphic Novel of The watchmen but nothing beats the film. It is what brought the graphic novel to life. The movie was great but of course like a lot of other novels the movie had to be changed. The movie only shows so much visually and they're goal is to make money so some parts had to be changed for those that haven't read the book and to make sure the movie was not to lengthy.
The upside to the film, is that if some people do not like reading they can still enjoy and understand the message behind watchmen that stays faithful to Alans Moore's book.

The characters of Watchmen
Next to the plot of the Watchmen, there are the characters. each character has a big impact on the story and part of their character symbolizes something we recognize today. Each character had their own symbolism.
The Comedian was a parody of Humanity. He thought human nature was a sick joke only he understood. Nite Owl II represented idealism. Manhattan represented the detachment, since he was losing touch with humanity after getting his god like powers. The only one of his kind. Rorschach was moral absolutism. Ozymandias was complexity. He used dark methods for the greater good. And Silk Spectre represents change.

The plot of watchmen
Watchmen is a great graphic novel to read that is deep. The Watchmen is written to tagert adults about a superhero story. The Watchmen takes place in a world where superheroes exist, but none have super powers. The onl one who does is called 'Doctor Manhatten' (the blue guy), who was a scientist who was in an accident which gave him god like powers.
Most of the superheroes are gone in the novel, since the government banned them. The story begins with an old hero, named the Comedienne, being murdered. Another character named Rorshach (who's a bit on the insane side) thinks that there's a conspiracy behind his death, and begins investigating, first by going around and talking to all the old heroes.
The story takes off from there.The importance of the story has to do with that it was written and is set in the 1980s. From the 50s to the 80s, people all over the world were constantly afraid that the Soviet Union and the United States could start a nuclear war with each other at any moment and kill billions of people. Page 1: From what I can tell this graphic novel is a spinoff of ‘World War One’, only the humans are rat that have a human figure. The characters visible on this page, are; Ilzecki, Level and Mr Spiehlman. The kind of language used in the text includes, informal writing.
The page is shaped according to what is happening in the story, the boxes are in no particular shape. From a visual perspective the text and some images on the screen are hard to read sometimes.
The page reads left to right and top to bottom. Yes, the words on the page add to the visual impact because the writing looks like it was written in their time the early 1900's. I would definitely be interested in reading this graphic novel because it looks deep and promising of what could be a worth while novel to read, even a series. This graphic novel makes me look forward to reading the other graphic novel.
Page 2: From what I can tell this graphic novel is about what is happening during the Islamic Revolution in the 1980's. Characters visible on the screen are what look like a young woman and her mother. The language used in the text, is formal and non-coloured text.
There are eight boxes visible on the screen and there are four that are the same and three others that are the same and one big one. The page reads top to bottom left to right. From a visual perspective the page is somewhat pleasing to the eye because there is no colour, but for this kind of Graphic Novel, it is good because the author wants the readers to pay attention to what is happening in the story.
Yes, the words add to the visual impact on the page especially since there is no colour to distract from it. Yes, the graphic novel lacks action and entertainment, but makes up for it in the back ground of the story.

This article is interesting in a way that will make you be more open minded to reading other books and trying other things you thought were boring. April was like me before I watched or read the watchmen or most other gravel novels. I first thought it would be boring, but yet it turned out to be my favorite graphic novel, because of it's dark and mysterious plot.
I would even recommend it to everyone, it is one of those things that 'everyone' needs to see and understand. It is something that everyone can learn from.

Kick Ass
Kick Ass is a movie by lions gate coming out on 16 April 2010.
Cast: Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark Strong, and Lyndsy Fonseca. Director: Matthew Vaughn and Writers: Jane Goldman, Mark Millar.
The plot of this movie is as follows: Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.
I like the concept of the super hero and that they make it look like someone in this life time must have tried to dress up as a super hero and tried this by now. This movie looks like it is funny as the trailer makes it out to be and i will see it when it comes out.

Salt

The Road
A new movie coming out on the 25 of November is called 'The Road', is about; A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and, when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing: just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food--and each other.
It seems like a good movie fro ma trailer, that could win some serious awards like 'Invictus' the movie coming out next year about Nelson Mandela, played by Morgan freeman. Cast: Charlize Theron, Viggo Mortensen, Robert Duvall, Guy Pearce, and Molly Parker

The movie it self is based on the pulizter prize winning novel, by Cormac Mc carthy, author of no country for old men. The road makes 2012 look liek a comedy in itself, hopefully the roads won't be pact when i go to see this movie.

I Couldn't believe when i heard the movie was coming out, but it looks like it could be good, considering it was a game. usually Disney movies have no blood but pirates of the Caribbean did and the makers of that movie is making this one. Gemma Arterton looks right for the part.

Child hood cartoons
What would we be without our childhood especially the TV programs that were on at that time. I have watched a lot especially in the 1990's, those were my favorite times for games movies and cartoons.
There is a long list of all the cartoons I used to watch and they luckily can still be watched on you tube. Nothing beats the oldies, like sesame street, hey Arnold, Ned's newt, Buzz light year of star command and many more. There are no favorites of mien since i think they were all good cartoons of their time.

Don't swim when it's storming
One Public service announcement that caught my eye was one of the original G.I. Joe PSA's of not swimming while there is a storm to avoid the risk of getting electrocuted. I think this PSA and other one of G.I. Joe PSA's have a better impact than most other cartoon PSA's because he is closer to a real image of a human being.
I think this PSA would be more effective if Deep six was not wearing a big wet metal suit that could conduct electricity so easily.

'The season of the witch' is an adventure/horror film coming out on the 19th of march 2010. The cast incudes; Cast Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Ulrich Thomsen, and Robert Sheehan.

The story is about a 14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague. I personally like nicholas cage, as actor he is great. Ghostrider was one of my favourite films he was in, but many people don't seem to like him, even though they have seen a 27 second trailer they assume it is bad, but i willl wait to watch this movie befor ei judge it.
I do not like the national treasure movies, but non the less Nicholas is a good actor.

The Messenger
Coming out in late 2011, "The Messenger' is a movie about a man, (Ben Foster) who delivers the bad news of fallen soldiers in combat, to their families and loved ones. Starring Ben Foster who we know from 'Zombie land', Genre: Drama; Romance; War. Cast: Ben Foster, Jena Malone, Eamonn Walker, Woody Harrelson, and Yaya DaCosta. Director: Oren Moverman and Writers; Alessandro Camon, Oren Moverman. Rated R.
I can understand the pain the families that go through getting the messenges that their loved one died in battle, but also the messengers have a rough job. With the experience as a soldier/messenger he would fully understand the slap came out of the uncontrolled reaction from the shock, anguish & utter despair at the loss of a loved one.
We will be more enlightened after watching the full movie. In my opinion Ben Foster is an underrated actor, he has brought us great movies after the next, definitely will see this movie.

Shhhhh... Be vevvy quiet, I'm hunting Oscars!
An astonishing new movie coming out on the 11th of December called 'Invictus' is starring; Morgan freeman, and Matt Damon. Director: Clint Eastwood and writers; Anthony Peckham, John Carlin.
This movie is a look at life for Nelson Mandela after the fall of apartheid in South Africa during his first term as president when campaigned to host the 1995 Rugby World Cup event as an opportunity to unite his countrymen.
I have to say that Morgan freeman makes this movie look better than it is with his brilliant acting, and whoever idea it was to match him with Matt Damon was genius. This pair i didn't think i would see in any movie. I always had this funny feeling Freeman would someday play as Nelson Mandela, it helps to look like him.
I like how they portrayed the sport of rugby in this movie as well its an intense sport that also added to the effects of the movie. I'm going to watch it anyway because Morgan Freeman is in it and anything with Morgan Freeman in it is good.
